Composed and performed by Silvia Nakkach (vocals), Timothy White (sitar and flutes), Janis Mattox and Loren Rush (enhanced piano in just intonation), Michael Knapp (cello), Mel Graves (bass), and Jennifer Wilsey (percussion). Includes Five-Limit Slow Blues by Rush and Graves and excerpts from Tempo Perdido (A Lost Time), by Mattox and Nakkach, inspired by songs from the Brazilian rainforest and the poetry of 20th century Brazilian poet Cecilia Meireles. Conducted by Loren Rush and co-directed by Riley and Rush, this performance features over 30 Bay area performers including The Good Sound Band, David Abel, Julie Steinberg, Daniel Kobialka, Allaudin Matthieu, Khayal, The Sensations of Tone, members of the Turtle Island String Quartet and of the Rova Saxophone Quartet. The Good Sound Band was formed by the Good Sound Foundation to enhance the art of live performance by actively researching and demonstrating developments in new performance technologies. An ensemble of technologically experienced composer/performers, the Good Sound Band uses systems developed by Good Sound Foundation to realize intermedia works that exemplify good sound and extend its capabilities.
