dice is a cooperative among nine women from North America and abroad. Their styles range from free jazz improvisation to avant-garde rock to the "unclassifiable." Some of their roots began with classical music training, some in the folk or rock traditions, and still others found roots in hearing the geographical and ethnic sounds of their homes. They are all singers, but they use their voices to create individualistic shades. Yet, there is something uncommonly pure about that way they've all arrived at the use of their voices to express their lives and their art. (Distributed by Tellus Records)
