Come on a handcrafted emotional journey in the guise of a variety show for adults and mature teens, playfully fashioned by two middle-aged women artist friends. Immerse yourself in an evening of personal dances, songs, text, soundscapes, and magic performed in a style that is intimate and vulnerable, yet rich with comedic bravado. Travel through the death of a beloved parent, meditations on embodiment and food, and thirty-second parties with exquisite dancer and performer Heloise Gold and consummate performance artist Beverly Bajema.Beverly Bajema and Heloise Gold have been performing together and creating art events for the past 25 years. They are among a handful of artists who pioneered experimental dance and theater performance works in Austin in the 1980's, and continuing through the 1990's. Some of their memorable works are: the Watching from the She-Palace series, Careography: A Car Show, The Opera Party, Hot Flash, Farm Girls, Divine Lunacy, Fools for Fashion, Dream Bird Dances and Songs, and more. They are also the co-founders of Art from the Streets, a visual arts program that includes weekly art classes and an annual show and sale for artists who are homeless.
This event is sponsored by Dance Umbrella.
