children's dreams

dear all, the last two weeks i've been collecting dreams from my children and piano students. those who contribute a dream get a list from me of ideas of ways to play with their dreams.

here are 5 contributions. enjoy!

joshua (8 years old on 5 november)

lego city game

the robot was a great big monster with a flame thrower and a pinching hand. and i had defeated it, and then i could be it. and then i installed him to be a good guy. i did that so that i could trick the other bad guys, because i kept the same color. then i killed a bad guy with my flame thrower and had destroyed [one of their] castles. and then the whole team of bad guys came over on the side of the good guys. but there were still bad ones in another place. and then i picked up a tree, and then there was a street, and then there was a whole empty space. on the sides were all kinds of things that i could choose to build (bob the builders). before you could start, you had to walk all the way in the middle, and when you were finished, then you could become little men [LEGO figures] all at once.

then i became a little man, a mayor, and i made a harbor as well, because the mayors could also make harbors, and then there was immediately a boat in the harbor, a fire-fighting boat, and then there appeared a cargo boat with fire that you could put out.

mama, sophia and i were walking through the city, along the big church. sophia and i were walking hand-in-hand with mama.

party animals.

i dreamt that i was surrounded by party animals and that we were going to party on animal day.

aidan (almost 5)

there was a goat, and he was going for a walk in the woods, and he suddenly saw a monster! the goat got scared and ran away. (the monster had horns, scary eyes, a round nose, sharp teeth and scary hands - i drew it under aidan's guidance)

every year i dream that we are playing soccer against the gorillas. and then there comes a story with it.

this year it was that the most annoying guy in our class had to play a soccer game against the monkey team (with all kinds of monkeys). and this boy was then in love with a monkey girl who was on the team. they kept everything a secret. this monkey girl had a telephone and the boy tried to find her number. and then they were together a long time, but they kept all this relationship secret. then they went to play soccer the next year. the girl was no longer on the team. in her place was a great big gorilla! the class lost 2000 to 0. half of the team was laying around, injured, on the field because this gorilla had these huge, 30 cm muscles.
