CERTIFICATE PROGRAM GOALS
Developing the ability to guide others and to facilitate creativity in yourself and others through listening is a major goal of the Certificate Program.
It is important to note that Certification is not guaranteed by attending the Intensives and fulfilling the requirements. You must attain and demonstrate a level of listening mindfulness determined by the instructors; demonstrate your understanding of Deep Listening in the content of your reports and in your presence and ability to compose and lead Deep Listening exercises.
Summary of Deep Listening Certificate Requirements

Deep Listening Certificate requirement activities (click links above for descriptions of each requirement) are intended to take place during a three to five year period with acceleration possible with approval of the instructors. A Presentation including reference to listening, dreaming and moving is expected as a culminating activity. Date, time and location will be arranged.
- Start a Deep Listening Study Group.
- Attend six Deep Listening Intensives with Pauline Oliveros
- Keep a Listening Journal (see below under "Listening Requirements" Listening includes Moving & Dreaming)
- Participate in the Deep Listening Dreamers’ Blog, an invitational online dreaming community facilitated by Ione,The Dream Sack, and other dream related activities with Ione.
- Practice a body discipline and attend Tai Chi intensives and other movement related activities withHeloise Gold.
- Submission of Quarterly reports - quarterly reports are accounts of your progress within the Study Group activities and as a summary of your LISTENING JOURNAL activities.
- Maintanence of your online certificate candidate profile on www.deeplistening.org.
- Support for Deep Listening Group Dynamics Process is offered by Ione on a Quarterly Basis.
A NOTE ON POST-CERTIFICATION
Deep Listening® is a service mark of Deep Listening Institute, Ltd. - you may use Deep Listening material in your teachings and projects however certification, appropriate credits to Deep Listening Institute and a license fee for the use of the logo are required in order to set up a class or workshop called Deep Listening®. In order to set up such a class a proposal is to be made to Deep Listening Institute, Ltd. with a description of the workshop and a budget. A small percentage of the budget, which is negotiable, will go to the Institute as a license fee for the use of the name and logo.
