18th annual Deep Listening Retreat!

A first for Ireland! Deep Listening Institute, Ltd. will hold its 18th Annual Deep Listening Retreat between June 29th and July 4th 2008 in Cork City in South West Ireland. The Retreat will be held in the Department of Music, University College Cork, a beautiful, converted parochial building on the edge of the city, and will make use of green spaces on the main campus.
The Deep Listening Retreat instructors are Pauline Oliveros, composer and founder of Deep Listening; Ione, author, director, and dream specialist; and Heloise Gold, choreographer, T'ai Chi and movement specialist.
The cost is 750 euro (with a 25 euro fee for online bookings), which includes meals and accommodation in single rooms in comfortable shared apartments (double rooms are available for couples). Accommodation will be available from the 29th to the 5th (inclusive). All catering will be vegetarian or vegan. Participants should arrive on June 29th for orientation and a welcome dinner.

• The balance (550 euro) is due by May 1st.
• There is a 50euro cancellation fee before May 1st, after May 1st deposits are forfeited.

Who Is It For?
Deep Listening Retreats are for ear minded people: Musicians and artists interested in expanding their understanding of sound and its effects on the body.Meditators interested in enhancing their depth of practice through listening Teachers who want to encourage appreciation for listening in their students. People interested in well being, relaxation, excitement and connection with others and the environment. The training includes seven hours of daily ritual, breathing techniques, listening/sounding meditations, practicing silence, journeying for expanded resources, listening through dreams, tracking listening with sound journals, interaction, discoveries, exploration strategies for creating and performing, scoring, writing, drawing, movement sessions in the open air, listening for creative opportunities, exchange and lively conversation.

Letters will be provided for teachers or students applying for funding from their institutions to attend the Retreat.
